Male Ballet Dancer

The grace and power of male ballet dancers is such a precarious balance. I love this pose and the movement it insinuates. He has red harem pants and like the rest is up on ebay for sale. He is fully anatomically correct and though I made the harem pants for ebay's modesty they are removable because I think he's best showing the beauty of the human body in full. SOLD

Winter Dance

An OOAK paperclay doll with mohair for her locks and her dress of silk and crystals. Very happy with this gal. Think my work is beginning to get where I want it to be :) First pic is of her finished and the rest are of her before she is dressed. I just wanted to show her body off before she gets modest. I actually prefer the pre doll stage when they are simple sculptures. SOLD

Geisha Noirceur (darkness)

I have taken more time with this one and hopefully it shows. Oh how I love the grace of the human form (said that one before :) This gal will be sort of a goth Geisha. This is just a pic of her quite raw and one of her complete without her display. Finally a pic of her with full display. SOLD

Winter Awakening or La Plume Blanche

Next piece I am currently working on is La Plume Blanche. She is in a low dancer pose, balanced on one foot. Her hands reaching upwards toward the full awakening of the winter season. Here are photos of her progression--in the rough in order to show her pose to the finished piece. Really love this piece. Best one I have done. I LOVE the drama of this pose! SOLD

Red Dancer

In this piece I worked with the balance of the figure leaning back into a scarlet red cloth. I like the intrigue of the pose and I enjoyed hand painting her eyes. She is paperclay over armature, mohair, silk cloth and on a marble base.

Tree Of Life

This is my newest creation Tree Of Life. Here is a photo of her in her beginning stages and two of her near completion.

The Tree Of Life shows up in many cultures. The roots grow up into the sky with the branches reaching down into the earth. Here is where we understand that the material world and the spiritual world are but a reflection of one another as in the reflection of a tree at the water's edge. I have sculpted this piece in a Yoga pose called Adho Mukha Vrksasana
which is translated as "Downward Facing Tree". The Tree Of Life is symbolized by the Banyon tree which is thought of as perfectly symbolizing life due to it's unending expansion.

She is currently for sale on ETSY; http://www.etsy.com/listing/76385842/tree-of-life

Animal Prints Are In This Year

Next sculpture is "Animal Prints Are In This Year'. This is a wild girl, wearing her skin proudly and not choosing to wear the coat of another.

Also a pic of her before painting because it shows the musculature that didn't come out in the photos of her painted.

I Dream Of Samarai

This piece was sculpted in full and anatomically correct before I began to place her adornments and dress her. I do this with all of my dolls. It just seems like cheating to do otherwise and I know that she is whole beneath her dressings. Besides the practice sculpting is edging me toward being a better sculptor for which I aspire. I don't think anyone ever becomes so adept at anything that there isn't room for improvement and I will always strive to be better. I placed a rod into her armor to suspend her on her pedestal so that she would hover in mid air. The photos of her body are over exposed but they are all I have. You can see the progress. For her armor I used very fine metallic powder which you then burnish (rub) to buff it out. For her dress she is wearing many different versions of silk and her hair is made of humanely shorn mohair.

SOLD

Thanks for visiting :)
